2020's Word of the Year

2020 word of the year- Release
Release control of what I can't control. Release worry. Release fear. Release...

Saturday, May 15

What a month!

At the end of April I got an email from my mom telling me that my dad was going to have to have a heart cath done before they could do his hip replacement surgery. So on May 3rd they did a heart cath and decided he needed a stent put in due to blockage. I ran down to Kearney to see them. Dad looked great, definitely had his goofy sense of humor. He got to go home on Tuesday.
On Wednesday we got a call that my father in law had a heart attack and they were taking him to Kearney. Hubby went down on Thursday along with several of his siblings. He came home to work on Friday, and went down again on Saturday for the quadruple bypass operation to be done. His dad is doing great!
The day before his father was to be dismissed, his mother had a spell where she couldn't breathe. They thought she had pneumonia, but now they're saying it's congestive heart failure. So Wednesday of this week we went back to Kearney to see her. Thursday she had a really bad day, but now seems to be doing much better. Hubby is back down there today. His dad was dismissed from the hospital but has been staying at a hotel to be close to his wife of 54 years. Tomorrow he's going home for a few days. Hopefully my mother in law will be able to go home later next week.
It's been an eventful, stressful couple of weeks in our home. We had planned to celebrate our anniversary, but that went on the back burner.
Yesterday was our final MOPS meeting for the year. It's been a strange year, but we have several new moms and it was a blessing to work with all of them.
They boys are finishing up their school year this week and we're all looking forward to a bit of a break. Wonder if I can teach them to sleep in?
Whoa! I just realized that May is only half over. I hope we survive...
