When you have a high needs, hyperactive child, you find yourself repeating "don't" an awful lot of the time. After awhile you lose patience, and then you start to yell. In fact for the first time in my whole life I find myself inwardly swearing, a lot.
It's very frustrating when you've told a child over and over not to do something, and they not only do it, but they look at you proudly and say, "I Did IT!" What do you do then? I mean, he really honestly is proud of his accomplishment, totally forgetting earlier admonishments not to do that exact same thing. Or maybe he just doesn't understand the whole issue.
I don't know. But I do know that I'm the one learning, I'm learning patience the hard way.
I'm just praying that someday soon my little man will finally get it, and will learn to be obedient.
I have a feeling that my heavenly father says the same thing about me....
